Over 30 years of physiotherapy expertise
to correctly diagnose for fast relief and to
move well for the long term.

Having successfully treated 11, 297 patients with knee pain, and having had two knee reconstructions myself, I understand the frustration of chronic knee pain. My advanced training in pain management combined with experience enables me to find solutions when others can’t.

My mother was a hard taskmaster, The classic “Tiger Mum”, she not just commanded, but demanded, fear and respect.
Her extremely high standards meant that I developed an eye for detail and a habit of learning quickly from any experience.
My father also wanted and expected us to succeed, but had a more nurturing way of showing it.
When we made mistakes, he would not just point them out in the light of day, but gently demonstrate where we would have gone astray, and how we could get a better result.
Subconsciously, I took this onboard, and deep down, felt that more could be gained from accepting reality and fostering potential than beating someone into submission to get the ‘right’ answer.
It provided me with the ability to understand another person at a level that they might not even be aware of in themselves, but it was in the neutrality of the listening space that I noticed an
individual opening up in a way that would even surprise the speaker.
And there was reward in making people feel comfortable – a smile, a word of encouragement, and occasionally a treat.
This all contributed to me feeling more at ease when I was able to put others at ease, allowing them to take the lead and then responding in a way that would enable them to not feel threatened.
I noticed that doing this would often drain my time and energy.
But as I grow older and more experienced in life, I am getting better at setting boundaries with others whilst doing my best to empower them to be themselves – so that they can feel in control of their destiny, and become great role models for those around them.

Appreciation of Movement

Even as a child, I enjoyed the artistry that could be found in movement, and the benefit people gain from connecting with others, often through physical activities.

Naturally Supportive

As a teenager, I discovered that enabling people to get their worries off their chest would result in a degree of appreciation that was often unparalleled – it was almost as if tending to the emotional need had as much effect as any healing that was performed in the process of rehabilitating the physical injury.

It also enabled a connection to develop – one  built on friendship, trust, and most of all, a feeling of safety.

And there was a great personal reward in feeling that you had left someone better off than before you had found them.

So this sense of satisfaction built a desire in me to help humanity by offering, in big and small ways, some relief from suffering.

Getting to the root cause - the importance of being thorough

However, not all pains are emotional and not all aches experienced in muscles, joints and nerves are due to these structures alone.

Sometimes the causes of pain may be more sinister.

So it is important to be able to distinguish between the dangerous and the demanding kinds of symptoms that one may encounter.

Having detected a number of potentially very serious health conditions, Leanne realises the importance of good diagnosis.

Guided by Intuition

My parents came from relatively disadvantaged circumstances – particularly my father, who grew up in a small two-bedroom apartment in Asia with his parents and 12 siblings.  Some of my parents’ success has come at a price – possibly unnecessarily paid, but nevertheless, it was a choice that they made.

The price they paid was the denial of emotions other than anger, rage, pride and possibly shame.

I was often reminded by my mother that I was “too sensitive” and was reprimanded when I expressed emotions of sadness or disappointment.  I knew that I could relate well to the emotions of others, as I was often told, by strangers and close friends alike – that they felt I understood their issues and were grateful for my presence in moments when they needed an ear to hear their stories. Now my mother recognises the skill and value of my experience and intuition – especially when I’ve instinctively treated her back to help with her hip and knee problems to give her quick relief!

Extremely fortunate to find a highly successful mentor and coach who underwood that better health is best achieved through emotional as well as physical well-being, and recognised that I had skills to detect factors that contribute to my patents’ pain other than the just the biomechanical, I became aware of additional ways people can find solutions to their pain.  My mentor has supported many people through various  trials and tribulations whilst maintaining a very successful life of his own, and I can only hope to do the same.

By touching the lives of others, I hope I can help them see that they can make choices that will enable them to lead healthier lives.

So that they can let go of their pain too.

I only hope to touch and gift others with the same grace, talent and care that those around me have been able to touch me.

We offer a range of ways you can discover how to manage your pain yourself.
